Engine Maintenance

Engine Maintenance

Engine Maintenance

Engine maintenance is extremely important to keep your car or truck operating like new. The maintenance also impacts how long your vehicle’s engine lasts. Your engine is the heart of your vehicle. So you should take care of it, like you take care of your heart. At Agape Auto Service we offer many repairs, and engine maintenance services. Some of the services we offer include:

Check Engine Light

Check engine lights are very tricky to determine the cause. No one enjoys seeing the check engine light come one, especially while driving. The causes of the light coming on could vary from something like a loose gas cap which is very minor and easy to fix, to something as serious as a bad catalytic converter, which is much more costly to repair. At Agape Auto Service we can pull the code and diagnose the problem for you.

Fuel Injection

Your fuel injection system is what allows your fuel to go to the engine. In 1990 carburetors began being replaced by fuel injectors for the exact reason of getting gasoline to the engine. The fuel injector actually works by taking a lot of high pressure and forcibly pumping the fuel through a small nozzle to your engine. If your fuel injector fails, your vehicles performance will diminish and ultimately your engine will be completely destroyed. That is why it is extremely important that you take very good care of your vehicle’s fuel injection system and maintain it properly. For all your fuel injection maintenance and replacement needs, stop into Agape Auto Service.

Ignition

Many vehicle owners should be familiar with ignition to a certain extent, but do you know how your ignition really works? Well obviously, your ignition system is for igniting, but what it actually does is ignites your fuel/air mixture in your gasoline engine, allowing your car to start. When your ignition is properly working it means that your car’s performance will be at its peak and will always properly start. For all your ignition system maintenance and replacement needs, stop into Agape Auto Service.

Ignition Wires & Cables

Many vehicle owners don’t know about all of the cabled and wires that are in a vehicle. However, some of these cables and wires are a very important part of your vehicle. For instance, ignition cables which are more commonly known as spark plug wires are a vital part of your vehicles ignition system. These cables work by transferring the spark from the coil to the spark plugs which actually ignite the fuel/air mixture. As we learned above, the mixture is what starts the engine. Unfortunately, over time, with the wear and tear that happens to our vehicles, the ignition wires and cables get weak and break down. This makes it extremely difficult and a lot of times, impossible for the spark to reach the engine cylinders. This usually makes the engine misfire. This problem over time will lead to the car failing to start, and if it does, it won’t run well at all.

Oil, Lube, and Filter

A big part of your vehicle is maintaining its moisture. If you want to keep your vehicle running smoothly, you will need to make sure you are regularly giving your vehicle oil, lube, and changing the oil filters. Oil plays a big role in your vehicle running, it helps lubricate, cool, and clean your engine components. Over time, your motor oil becomes contaminated with all kinds of dirt, debris, and particles. We highly recommend that you change your oil, lube, and filter, every three months or 3,000 miles. When it is time for a lube, oil, or filter change, stop into Agape Auto Service.

Spark Plugs

We mentioned spark plugs a bit earlier when discussing ignition wires and cables, however, we didn’t really explain the significance of your vehicle’s spark plugs. The spark plug is what transfers the electric current to the combustion chamber from the ignition system. If your spark plugs haven’t been changed in a long time, it could potentially cause some ignition problems. For all your spark plug repair or replacement needs, stop into Agape Auto Service.
